Founder Stephen Long MCSE; (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer); has been providing Internet development, management, and marketing strategies; including search engine optimization services to small and medium size businesses since 1994.

The Cape Breton directory idea came about while searching the internet for a colleague planning a trip to Cape Breton. Stephen was frustated with the search results; often his keywords would returned information of no value or sites that were disorganized and/or incomplete.

Stephen's technical background lead him to believe he could do it better, but much more he knew Cape Breton, his ancestry can be traced to Nicholas Deny and the trading post of St. Perrier (St. Peter's) 1644. Stephen had traveled the island many times, he understands the diverse cultures and the people. Armed with this and a fresh idea; he dusted off on old domain name and - cape-breton.com was born.
