This is a musical freestyle dressage performance by Jasper 366 and his rider Peter Spahn, from the 2007 stallion show in Leeuwarden Friesland. January 12-13, 2007.
There are only about 80 Dutch-registered (FPS) stallions approved for breeding *in the world* and only about 16 in North America. Wander 352, born and raised in the USA, is one of them. Here he is at his keuring in 2003.
January 13, 2007 in Leeuwarden Friesland. The approved stallions compete for world champion. This is the finals where 5 competed. Winner - Onne 376, Reserve went to Harmen 424.
This is Tara. Sire is Wander 352, mother is Dahlia ster (Thomas x Tsjerk). This video shows some of the foal training we do each day with the little ones. Note: in September '06 at 6 months old Tara was named 1st premie, champ filly at her inspection.
This is Teade, son of Anton, doing a musical freestyle at the 2nd level in Lexington VA in 2004. Teade was very green when this was taken but I enjoyed the performance quite a bit. Teade has a lot of personality and he is progressing slowly but well in dressage. He was also approved on offspring in late 2006 which puts him in a very distinct class as a breeding stallion.
Brandus is a very popular stallion with a big trot and a huge heart. His offspring seem to do well in dressage, that is no doubt due to their honesty and desire to work. He epitomizes Friesian character.
Our friends in Friesland take a carriage ride every Sunday. We were lucky enough to be invited one year; this was taken in southwest Friesland. It was a lovely day and I made a video Christmas card from it. Hope you enjoy it.
This is the final from 2003 in Leeuwarden, Friesland. Time 398 won this year, with Bradus 345 2nd and Sape 384 third. It was a very exciting run - the crowd was very enthusiastic.
This is my broodmare Dahlia when she was in training in 2004 as a 3 year old. Her father is Thomas 327, a great driving horse, now deceased. Dahlia comes from a long line of incredible broodmares. Her first foal was Tara, born in 2006.
This week we lost our 3 year old filly Ock in an accident from a fall. It was quick and she did not suffer. But that does not really make it any easier for those she left behind. She was a big, sweet and talented youngster and the world does not seem the same without her in it.
This video is my goodbye.
For some reason, this music makes me think of my mare Cori. Like that musical piece, Cori is beautiful and fluid. At one time I did a video montage of Cori under saddle and in harness back in 2003, when she was being trained. Tonight I dug that up and reprocessed it. YoYo Ma is playing Bach, accompanying Cori as she does a nice horse ballet for us.
Ock is a nice Mintse x Oege 1st premie filly. She is very tall (already over 15.2) and we have high hopes for her as a future broodmare. She is coming along nicely.
