A cartoon for a feature film of the same name-1976. The producers were busted, the film shut down and the cartoon was never released...too bad, one of my all time favorite shorts created by Arnie Wong
Spinnin' Wheels..animated intro " High Drive" ( Laguna Beach ) by John Lamb ... for 1975 skateboarding film starring then worldchampion Bruce Logan. Corky Carrol and his Corkettes(?) did the soundtrack for the cartoon. Maybe the worlds first skateboard
cartoon...if anyone knows of a prior skate toon...please let me know.
John Lamb's epic surftoon with son Austin's band on soundtrack.Circa 1975...sat incomplete in the can for 30 yrs.
This is an unedited rough cut and still needs to be dialed in.
Thanks to Scotty Starr for finding this clip which features the manufacturing of my character from Rocket 88/5 Summer Stories surftoon on HANG TEN skaters. I had no idea it was floating out there in the universe and 33 years later, it falls from the glorious heavens.
KUSI missed all my film cues and and put an old workprint up as an example of my animation....DOH!! They were supposed to put up Flamingo Court and the finished surftoon from " 5 Summer Stories " and we'd move on from there. Being thrown off balance, I was forced to wing it...wtf...
