The last Swedish J35J Draken that still in active service. Built in February 1969 designated model "F". This was the last Draken to be converted to model "J" by Saabs service-life extension program. The plane was delivered in August 1991. This was filmed by me in a private airshow in a windy day, October 2002, just prior to receive a new paintjob.
A WWII era plane built by FFVS. The design would consist of a frame of steel tubing, strengthened by a skin of birch plywood panels. The only engine available was the STW C-3 "Swedish Twin Wasp". This was a Swedish copy, built without license, of the Pratt & Whitney Twin Wasp of 1065 hp.
A few days before Christmas in 2002, the last two Saab SK 60 trainers and the last JAS 39 Gripen take off and leave the F10 wing for the last time flying off to the F17 wing on the east coast. On New Year Eve 2002 the wing closed there gates for the last time, ending a 57 year era.
