The Cunningham Brothers again. Phil on mandolin, whistle and accordion with Johnny showing his talent on the fiddle. Sorrythis video is quite a bit out of synch.
Mary Black "Past The Point of Rescue"
Sometime in the Eighties. If you like it then good, if you don't then move on. Can't be bothered with any more negative comments.
Robbie Robertson introduces a cast of stars singing this Woody Guthrie classic which I first heard sung by my sister. This is the finale to the 1988 Shared Vision tribute to Leadbelly and Woody - sorry its a bit out of whack, picturewise
Played by Martin Simpson. A very restful tune with some restful photos. " For bringing us the horse we could almost forgive you for bringing us whiskey. Horses make a landscape look more beautiful." (Quote by Lame Deer, Lakota holy man.
A song by the late, great Canadian folk singer Stan Rogers, from his album, 'For the family' from 1983 or so. Garnet Rogers play the solo fiddle piece. I didn't get enough pictures to do justice to the song. Hope you like it anyway. Buy the album, there are many great songs on it.
Some film of Benbecula and South Uist, the quality should be better. Some of it is also too fast for the music. The band plays the best version of the Dark Island that I have ever heard. Those who love solo accordion versions will not agree. Ach well.. Bithidh cuid air an doigh, 's bithcuid nach bith.
Willie Nelson live in concert singing the Huddie Ledbetter classic "Goodnight Irene." Another clip from "A Vision Shared: A Tribute To Woody Guthrie And Leadbelly", 1988.
Fergie Macdonald Iain MacDonald Iain MacFarlane on a live recording of 'Take The Floor' introduced by Robbie Shepherd. Recorded from BBC Radio Scotland in the Nineties in a marquee in the grounds of Kinlochmoidart House. Sorry about the sound quality in some bits.

Calum Kennedy sings 'The Dark Island.' The lochs of Benbecula are in the foreground. The Hills of South Uist in the distance. The photo was taken on my last trip to Uist.
Fiddle magic from another great Irish fiddler that we ought hear much more often. I'm sorry about the sound quality. Need to get a better flv converter.
Looking a bit like Silly Wizard in the early days, with Chas and Dave flat caps (except for the fiddler, of course, who looks nothing like Johnny Cunningham)
Also known as Plane Wreck At Los Gatos. From "A Vision Shared: A Tribute To Woody Guthrie And Leadbelly", 1988. A better quality version is available by
