When these fiddlers crank it up they are amazing - always smiling, with dancing feet and incredible rhythm! From the Acadian area of Southwest Prince Edward Island they are giving old Acadian tunes great new energy. They are great performers even though they are just beginning to take their music from the kitchen parties in their homes to the larger world.
Sierra was a huge hit at the 2007 Lunenburg Harbour Folk Festival. Standing Ovations, hand clapping and toe tapping marked her performances. At 17 she is already an accomplished fidder and is striving to preserve the music of her people. Bravo Sierra!

The great Cape Breton string player, Dave MacIsaac using an Incredibow for the first time and on my fiddle. A thrill for me to see how well he handled them from the git-go. He is a master fiddler! Thanks Dave!
ON October 8, 2007 Jerry played a great session from 10 pm until 1:20 am. Although showing some discomfort at times, when he got into the music he seemed to gain strength. He played beautifully accompanied by Marion Dewar and Scott MacMillan. A night I won't forget!

At the 2007 Maritime Fiddle Festival, two young Nova Scotia fiddlers did well. Katlyn and Kerri sounded better than this suggests. I was too close to the speakers and the recording overmodulated a bit - sorry about the sound quality.

Carl plays one of his many compositions, a great reel at St. John's Anglican Church. It was a very hot day and he had just walked up the long hill after his set on the wharf. He will be 79 at Christmas. What a great old time player!
